Rules of ColoRow

Will you be the first to make a ColoRow?
Make a row of 6 different OR 6 identical tiles.

Setup
Create a grid by placing the 36 tiles in random order.
Make rows of 4, 5 and/or 6 tiles. (Fig. 1)

Who goes first?
The youngest player always gets to go first!

Game time
Roll one of the dice. Grab a tile that:
matches the image on the die
AND
has at least 2 free adjacent sides. (Fig. 2)

You now have three options:
1.Flip the tile and place it in front of you.
This is the first tile in your ColoRow.
If there are no tiles with the right colour and 2 free sides,
take a tile from an opponent’s row and return it to the grid.
Your opponents don’t have any tiles yet.

  1. Now it’s the next player’s turn (clockwise).

How do you win?
The first player to make a ColoRow wins.
In other words, you need a row of 6 different or 6 identical tiles.

Playing with three or four players?
Keep playing after the first player wins the game.
The winner keeps the winning ColoRow.

Return all their duplicate tiles to the grid.
The other players keep their tiles and continue playing
until there is only one loser.
